Rearranged and updated: http://ywchoe.com/L19.html

Now that I've finally got stable Internet (and broken past the GFW) here in Beijing, I should be able to check daily again.

Are we clear to go ahead with round 3 pairings then? I've been waiting for the Chew/Oren match before setting up a time with Daniel, in case others dropped out/came in and altered the pairings in some way, but if round 3 is a go, I'll go ahead and set up my time..

I'm back in the US, and http://ywchoe.com/L19.html looks accurate for the third round. Third round, winner's bracket is a go. Lower bracket will be ready in a few days.

I won against karaklis by resign.

Any comments are welcome, we aren't sure about a lot of moves, especially letting the first black invasion live, and then the two white invasions later in the game.

Similarly, barring incident, Oren and I will play Thursday, 10 PM Central.
Someday I want to be strong enough to earn KGS[-].

Thanks!

:w12: I thought about it, but I wanted to induce the B17 / K17 exchange.
:w16: the problem with c11 is that I have to connect C9 soon. Is it really worthy ?
:w18: I'm not sure about this one. It's good locally, but it seems so small globally.
:w40: That was the initial plan, but what if black takes the corner ?
:w44: I didn't want to kill. This looked too dangerous, my left side isn't so strong. Maybe I worry too much.
:w68: good idea. It didn't even occur to me to do this.
:w72: huh ? What if black plays G17 then ?
:w84: Yes! I missed it in the game, and in the review. Thanks for this one.

12: I prefer not to induce that exchange, since the corner is quite big and it's the difference between letting white get settled and not.

16: Yes.

18: It's good.

40: Fair.

44: Two things. 1. Your left side is not weak at all. 2. When you play moves like this because you're afraid that you're too thin, you actually tend to make the thinness more severe. I learned this the hard way against a 6d.

72: You can atari it from the bottom, don't worry about one stone. I think sente is worth more at this point

I meant right side actually, but I think your point still stands. Thanks again.

And now, to see if he plays violin backwards while watching my groups burn... (I try to be clever, and tend to fail =D).

Thank you very much for the game, and thank you to Shaddy for the review. Oren, you played very well, and I look forwards to seeing you play (was it Joaz?) next.
