Hi, I recently heard about a book with so called 'connection joseki' the idea being that there are well known ways to invade and connect to outside groups etc.. A google search turned up nothing appropriate except typical joseki books. Does anybody know a book about this?

James Davies's "Tesuji" contains a chapters titled "Linking groups together" and "How to connect". The first of these contains tesuji for uniting together two distinct groups. The second is on picking the right type of connection (eg. solid connection, tiger's mouth etc) to secure a group that's already more or less united. I'm not sure if this kind of thing what you're thinking of.

very close, I'm thinking specifically of invasions.

Here is the example in question:

The book is mentioned on a variation of move 19, and now that I read more carefully, I realize it's actually 'ENCLOSURE JOSEKIS' not connection joseki... oi..

Anyway I found the book right away: http://senseis.xmp.net/?EnclosureJosekisTheBook

Thanks for inspiring me to take a second look.
