The KGS admins are a year-round joke so no need for an April fool anymore.

Apparently none of you have chatted or watched the main chat during the day (or have the aprils fool disabled). There actually was an april's fool on KGS this year, but not as obvious as the all-9d server or pink stones

An 8d apparently played chess on top of active games list, not kidding.
Then some admin decided it wasnt funny and deranked him to make the game disappear.
I guess it was some sort of private aprils joke by somebody and not official and kgs doesnt like people to do fun stuff very much and not on april 1st either. great guys those kgs admins.

Chatting in the main rooms had several characters exchanged. Typing an "s" for example would show up as a "$". The kibitz in games was not affected by this. Unfortunately i have no screenshot.

Instead of all 9d it should've been all 30k.

Oh.... That was proposed at one point.... But remember that not all KGS users are fully aware of what "April Fools" means. Imagine the hassle we'd have, trying to explain what has happened to dan players who don't quite understand why they are suddenly 30k, maybe some of them angry, maybe some of them panicky, and maybe some of them unable to comprehend any of the languages we could use....

I assume that's not true for 9d?

Turned out that the concerns were mostly about everyone else being 9d....

New suggestion for april fools: Everyone is 9p.
