Annandale VA Baduk Update

Hey folks,

Just got back into DC a couple weeks ago, and finally had the chance this week to head to Annandale. I visited my usual at Seoul Baduk over on McWhorter.

The boards are still there and the owner is still a strong player (possibly worth the trip if you're 5d or above), but all of the other players seemed to be missing. The only activity in residence was Mahjong.

So, I went searching for the exodus point, and finally managed to find a location with a good number of players. (The owner is also quite strong)

It's at 4110 Horseshoe Dr Annandale VA, there's a sign out front in Korean with the name of the club (Washington Hankuk Baduk) $10 day-fee. Smoking room in the basement, non-smoking in the entrance room (Which was a nice mix). Coffee and water complimentary. Wide range of levels.

There was talk at the congress of organizing a trip to the Annandale salon one weekend out of people from other local clubs. I got the impression (without having been there myself) that while the owner is very strong, most of the players there were of normal club strength, say strong SDK to low dan.

In any case, I hope you're considering coming to the other clubs in the area, like NoVA and Greater Washington?

Alas, I am busy myself tonight, but with any luck we'll run into one another in the future.
