Recommendations for first app for a child

In the club today (we play in a cafe) a nearby kid (<10 years old I guess) got interested in playing and we taught him a little. He also wanted to get a Go app for his iPad. I know about the SmartGo apps and have heard they are nice for experienced players, but they aren't free. So what recommendations (both Apple and Android) would you have for a kid's first Go program. It should be free, English language, have a bot to play on 9x9, be easy to use, and bonus points if it has a kid friendly tutorial and very easy problems that explain things like nets/ladders/two eyes.

I would suggest goproblems.com for easy tsumego. Or, in app form, you could get "WBaduk", and that's what I use (it has an ocean of puzzles for offline viewing)

"Little Go" - not exactly kid-friendly, but it does have a bot, it's in English, and it's free.

Hi,
My vote goes to "Champion GO"... ok... not free

... but not that expensive and very, very cool IMHO.

and also this one, which is free in its lite edition...

In Android Hactar Go Lite does most of it.

In addition, I would suggest
1) Cho U's 4by4 go puzzles. (Unfortunately not free)
https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/cho-us- ... 53034?mt=8According to britgo.org:
'This app is based on the 4 by 4 puzzle which has been come up with the idea by Cho U Kisei and Oza who is the best go player in Japan. This puzzle is the 4 by 4 tsumego game, an intellectual game which can be enjoyed by from complete beginners to high dan players. Kids can also learn how to play a game of go on its ‘Story Mode’ that features pretty characters.'
Really kid friendly... And pretty deep
2) Goquest
https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/goquest ... 41918?mt=8A beginner friendly go server dedicated to 9x9 and 13x13 short games (2x3mn and 2x5mn) free
3) Beauty & Go
https://itunes.apple.com/fr/app/beauty- ... 67258?mt=8Problems for the kids (kid friendly interface). Some of them quite challenging. Free + in app

Yes, I also wanted to recommend EasyGo which I really like a lot … one of its great features is profiles, very useful for tracking progress for different people playing on the same device. But then I remembered it was for pay, didn’t know there’s a “lite” version of it.

Thanks pleiade67 for recommended GoQuest because I didn't know such a cool little server exist.
Gochild is not an app but is working great on a tablet (internet access needed).

Have you seen gochild? It was originally written by someone for their child but represents I think a great pedagogical approach to problem solving:

For a child, first app that springs to my mind: GoQuest.
Direct play, easy, intuitive, also stronger players.
Lot's of fun for grown-ups too.
