Organising Go positions

I am looking for a way to save and manage individual Go positions on my PC, and to make comments on them and cycle through them. Ideally, it would be a little like an SGF file, except whenever you click the Next node it does not add a stone to the game, but rather switches to a completely different position. I could use one SGF file per position, but this is a bit clumsy when changing positions (unless there is some software that is good on this aspect).

Any suggestions?

I have used the Axon Idea Processor for something like that, using JPG files for position and associated text files for comments. But it's just for Windows.

You might be able to use DevonThink or a similar program, as well. :)

As these and other programs have shown, using lots of small files is not a bad way to organize material.

But you can use an SGF. Take a look at this example. I made it by entering a position using the edit tool, passing, removing the stones (also with the edit tool), and setting up a new position.
