I haven't watched enough American tv lately but aren't they too old to go to the prom? Made me think of the last you tube video I saw that 'went viral' and turned out to be an amazingly clever marketing stunt...

we may not be able to tell their ages very accurately, but they look like
they could be high school students, so in the appropriate age range.
