I have read that article a few times, but I am seeking more info on Genjô than it provides.
Therein it mentions that Genjô played in a "strong attacking style, making use of high positions". I imagine that the 5th line caps seen in some of his games is how one would've played an influence-oriented game in a time when playing opening moves on hoshi was rare.
I am sure that an in-depth exploration of Edo-era Go would be of benefit to many amateur Go players such as Yours Truly.
