I don't mind a link somewhere to download tapatalk (what does it do anyway?) but getting prompted repeatedly hurts my feelings. Makes me uneasy, makes me think it's evil. Just checked it out on the play store. They ask for my identity if I want to install it. I don't see no good reason for that. It's free, so they probably make money by some other means. Well, there are in-app purchases. No info given on play store what I will have to pay for, though. Besides, I like the way the forum works on my tapatalkfree android. Whoever set it up, made a good job. All in all I'll sleep better without tapatalk, even if it's a piece of great software out there. To change my mind, I'd need some more info how it will help me with my life.

I might be paranoid and a dinosaur, but I'm sure we're not extinct yet.

Nice one Kirby. I was about to suggest the vote. Let's see if anybody actually uses Tapatalk. If not, removing it should not be difficult technically.

This is an image of how the site looks on it when someone has posted a diagram using the iOS app. When someone posts an sgf in the viewer you either see the filename or the text if they pasted in the sgf.



I tried it a few years back when it was first added but not being able to see diagrams or sgfs made it very limited in usefulness for me.

Funnily, despite my post in the earlier thread, I have since been prompted twice to install Tapatalk.

The poll is already amazingly decisive. Kill it!

I made a modification to try to remove the ad, but I don't have a mobile device to test this change. Tonight when I'm at home, I can test the behavior.

So if it's not fixed already, I'll fix it tonight.

Now that I'm home, I don't see the 'Tapatalk' popup using my iPad. Does anyone still see this (maybe after clearing out cookies)? If not, I'll consider this resolved.

Fortunately iOS9 has support for Ad-Blockers now and guess what? No more annoyance.

Thanks. Never heard of it, but then I don't have a mobile/table and use an ad-blocker on the PC.

Hmm, that's no good.

Can you reproduce it? What device are you using? Does it still happen after clearing your browser cookies?

Right now, I can't reproduce this on my iPad, but if I can repro it, I can fix it.

The Javascript call "<script type="text/javascript" src="./mobiquo/tapatalkdetect.js"></script>" was still coded into the header. I removed it as of this posting. The popup should now be gone. If you do receive it again please post what board style is selected in your user control panel under board preferences.
