Uhm… is it true that this is just a Web site that has embedded the Eidogo thing? Why should we choose this over Eidogo? And what about the security issues with Eidogo?

The difference is that anybody can save to a go board. Which makes sharing easier. The share links can be posted on any forum, and your friend does not need any download to play.

Site is based on the code of eidogo, without the database. Xss problems have been patched (mostly)

Are the Apps just wrapping around the website? Then what's the point?

The apps are a bit faster.
The blank board, help and learning sections are fully offline on the apps.
The play gnugo and play with friends need internet data, but still load app local resources. Making it faster for slower internet connections.
