Hi,

since i’m only ~15kyu ogs i looked at your game more out of curiosity, please take my comments with some shovels of salt. :)

:b18: wouldn’t p17 be better to defend the corner and attack at the same time? See :w25:

b100 isn’t that a bit slow at that stage of the game? More like an endgame move?

b160 as a rule of thumb it should be blocked on the wider side, were there any special considerations to block at c4?

Do you mean the rank below the user name?
I’m very insecure about how solid the ranking around me is at ogs and therefor mine too. Or did you mean the OP and i’m really slow of understanding today?

A bit late, but I just looked at this game for the first time today:

You were in control for the entire game here, but there were places you could sharpen your play.

:b28: Seems slow
:b38: If you tenuki, approaching the corner may be bigger, but I'd also consider reinforcing in the center.
:b40: See 38.
:b90: This and the following moves are squeezing out the toothpaste: http://senseis.xmp.net/?SqueezingOutTheToothpaste

124: Play B8.
136: I believe you can extend and then hane to capture.
158: This move is a pass.
160: Ask yourself if you can kill. Common moves for that are B4 or D2.
166: Descend at E2--the connection isn't needed.
190: Another pass.
194: A third pass.

Thanks for the review. That toothpaste thing is interesting - never thought of it like that before

Haha no way, I leave all my rating to the KGS system. It'll promote me when I'm ready.

Thanks - I attached on b18 to make the stone heavier, but my opponent didn't oblige. Looking back I probably could have haned at the stone. B100 - you're right, I just really hate being undercut (stupid monkey jumps). B160, I was unusually afraid of the aji of the white stone, since if got out of hand somehow, the large left group only has 1 eye. Little difference iehter way, since the stone probably have no aji, and the whole group would probably look the same in either direction.

At :b14: I don't agree with playing H16. The upper left corner is a very solid shape, which reduces the value of moves near it. In particular, when you say "H16 doesn't defend"--there's nothing to defend.

I think K16 is not bad, but if I played elsewhere, I might approach the lower right.

Hi negapesuo, at :b96:, if he pushed through at A13,
then you would get the [sl=SqueezingOutTheToothpaste]Toothpaste[/sl]. :)
( But he was worried about his group dying, so he conntected, allowing you to block with :w97: . )

Ed, he's B. My thought is that B pushes White into undermining the B corner. It is true that there's some mutual damage, though.

The problem I see is that you appear to be undermatched. That is not good for your progress.
