Hi,

I am astonished by what OGS admin - mark5000 did to me.

I cancelled ranked games after the users i do not want to play with accepted my game offers(including those who maliciously accepted game offers for several times even though he or she had been rejected.

Mark5000, an OGS admin, contacted me and said that i must play with every user who accepts my game offers and intimidated me that i will be banned if i cancel any games in future .

Before giving your comments, please think about the question belows :

1. Are the buttons(including "CANCEL GAME" button) in OGS for appreciation purpose only?

2. Do players have freedom to choose their opponents?

Why do you cancel lots of games?

I don't play many live/blitz games on OGS, but I guess there's some misunderstanding here. From my experience mark5000 is quite a nice guy, and he might have misunderstood your habit brought from the other servers. I think on OGS the practice is that, when you create an open challenge and a player fitting your criteria accepted it, it's better to play the game instead of cancelling it without good reason. If you would like to play with certain player(s), you need to explicitly state that in your game creation.

Thing is, I didn't actually say any of the words kimyooojung bolded and underlined in the main post. (It seems rather inflammatory in that regard.) I only advised kimyooojung that the user "may" be banned if the user continued canceling 90% of games. This is because canceling so many games often (but not always) indicates a lack of interest in playing the games. To the extent that assumption was incorrect, I certainly apologize, but you should know that we encourage users to use the rank restriction feature and other options for narrowing the scope of open challenges and that canceling 90% of challenges is seen as excessive.

I think that mark5000 may be an expert in making up facts. It is interesting that he changed some of the wordings of our chat.

Admins will point out the rules and threaten to carry them out if they think you are not following them. By the way, this is also true here, where it is not allowed to attack other members...

Regarding OGS, politely refusing a marriage proposal is correct, but if you say you are willing to marry anybody and then refuse anyone who accepts your offer, then people will start to get annoyed. On OGS, you can specify before the game that you only want to play with people of a certain rank, that you want to play with certain rules and time settings. When someone comes along who agrees to your preferences, why reject them? After all, it is just a game, not a marriage! Sure, some people might rub you the wrong way for some reason or another, but if you don't want to play with most people, maybe a better idea would be to not put up game offers at all and instead, just wait for game offers from people you want to play with and click those.

I'm not sure why I was mentioned by the OP. Must be my animal magnetism. Oh, and one hell of a beard and mustache combo.

It seems that both parties are in the wrong here. kimyooojung seems arguementative and not willing to accept the statements made. mark5000 seems to have betrayed the unwritten rule of being an admin by posting private conversations.

I have to disagree here. The OP intentionally mislead about the topic of the original conversation. mark5000 released that chat in order to clear up false allegations.
