Hi,

I bought this board many years ago in a local shop and would love to know what kind of wood it is made of?

Thanks,
Oscar

From the coloration I'd say Katsura.

Looks to me like a thin board that has 2 pieces put together. (if it's not a folding type)

Gotta see all sides of the board to tell what it's made of 'cause it could be laminated or painted.

It looks like it is a folding board, gridlines imprinted, like one of my boards.
Not painted, not laminated or veneered, but two pieces of wood connected through recessed hinges. The board folds with the grid on the outside.
If it is like that, I do not think it is katsura.

Katsura is a fairly soft kind of wood. Another (non-folding) board of mine is katsura. Katsura also sounds 'soft'.
The folding board I have is a sturdy/hard kind of wood and makes a different sound. So perhaps it is not katsura.
Destructive test: push a finger nail into the underside. If it makes a dent, it is fairly soft wood, perhaps katsura. If there's no or hardly any imprint of your fingernail, it is hard wood-not katsura.
