Hey everyone I just recently got into Go, and its been great so far! I live in upstate NY so no one I know plays Go. Going to be playing on OGS soon, so I hope their lowest difficulty isn't too hard.

I tried getting into Shogi last year and fell off cause of school and decided to get back into it this semester. But when I was googling it, I came across Go and I thought it was more interesting so decided to go with that instead.
There is just something fascinating about a game so simple but infinitely complex at the same time. Haha

Where do you live upstate?
I live in Ithaca, and we have a bunch of go players here. I know of clubs in Syracuse and Rochester.

Hi Rickyyp,
I suggest driving across the Hudson to New Paltz, NY and stopping by Gomen Kudasai (
http://gknoodles.com/). It's a homestyle Japanese noodle house run by a husband and wife, and the husband (Kazuma) is around 12 kyu. He keeps a board and stones in the restaurant and loves to play with customers. Also, the food is delicious.
