4 important opening line I want to discuss with you.

Hi all.

I made 4 short opening and I ask you to give me some advice to play them better. I don't ask for a josekipedia, there's one alredy on the internet :batman: , but only what you think is the main line and the simplest way to at least equalize/keep initiative in the game.

I know there are many joseki and I know that the choice depends strongly on the position. But I ask you to give the pattern in a NORMAL position in which it's hard to judge the whole-board strategy or simply it's too early stage of the game and nothing important is set.

If possible the variations should, in order, satisfy the following criteria:

0) Not tenuki please.
1) Simple-remembering joseki (i.e. possibly short joseki)
2) "Stable" final position (i.e. not messy final position, not many aji if possible)
3) Not many possibilites for my opponent to deviate into complicated fight)

If 1,2,3 is not satisfied, don't mind, any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you play the two star point opening you have to expect to have fighting because it is a fighting/moyo oriented opening. White can create complications in almost any opening.

No. 1: F15 is probably the simplest answer.

No. 2: Jump out to E13 or E14 to avoid magic sword.

No. 3: I wouldn't approach the star point.

No. 4: Jump out, one space jump.

Best advice is to just endure the fighting and learn how to do it. White can always pick fights.

Just a comment on 2 and Shenoute/gowan's answers: the one point jumps are locally simpler moves (and there's fewer of them) compared to a potentially long/complicated joseki with many branches like the big knight press attach table shape one (is that what you mean by magic sword? I understand it to mean either just this pincer or specifically the attach outside and bump and cut joseki). However, those jumps will lead to large scale fighting, not the simple stable local positions you desire. It might seem paradoxical, but the large knight press, whilst it can lead to complex lines and has more moves, is often actually used as an inducing move because you want to quickly settle in the corner with a stable group. Or maybe it's not so paradoxical that fewer moves played now means less complete or settled shapes and more choices and possibilities for future moves, if I phrase it like that.

Your list tells me that probably

0) You don't tenuki often enough.
1) You don't leave aji often enough.
2) You don't fight often enough.

Moi, I often try to eliminate my opponent's possibilities. But that's because I often take an early lead. ;) I started off in go fighting like hell.

Anyway, here are a few things to think about. :)

As usual, lots of interesting ideas: thank you guys!

I am considering a lot more tenuki and non-local move... as a sdk it's hard for me to do that because it's not first instinct ;-) I am preparing a super topic about moyos.. stay tuned
