Since I've never done this before, let my just post what I'm assuming is procedure for the tournament:
1. We contact and schedule with our opponent.
2. We post games here(?) after they've been played.
3. New round, rinse/repeat.

How do I contact my opponent?
Also, how did i end up in this tourny? I didn't realize I was signing up for it when I signed up for the other. I thought it was just going to be a play when you feel like it kinna thing.

You can contact your opponent by sending him a private message.
SinK a few days ago asked on the topic if we wanted the tournament to be swiss or round robin, swiss won hence the tournament was changed to swiss
Good luck to everyone, may the best person win!

So my work fogged brain understands, we now have the Swiss DDK tournament and the September all you can play DDK league? Just making sure. Sounds like I'm going to be busy since I signed up for the ASR league as well.

Looks like I'll be playing lots of go in September now...
FWIW, my rank has currently stabilized at 17k, not that it matters much since the first round pairings have already been made. Good luck to all!

So does this officially start on Wednesday? And with that in mind, we have until each Wednesday to complete our matches?
Also, I am confused on the tie-breaker rule. Is that per match, or at the end, for placement? What I mean is, if I get lucky and tie my first opponent, 1 game to 1, do we play another one? Or would we both have 1 point at the end of the week?

You forgot two things:
1. post the game schedule on this thread before hand so people can join and watch.
2. Play all games on the KGS Godiscussions / L19x19 room

The tie breaker only matters if at the very end the two top people have the same score (which may not be possible with swiss tourneys I'm not 100% about that). If you win one game each in your round you both get 0.5pts.
docgnome if you want out I can remove you form the list and we'll give your opponent a bye this first round.
And to clarify rounds are played Wednesday-Wednesday. The deadline for your first round matches is close of play on the 7th.

edit: i'll just leave the attachement in, until i figure out how to make it visible inline. my apologies
edit2: i thought of nested tags, but not of using the link to the attachement. duh

. hope this works
edit3: added second game inline here, to keep the thread cleaner (hope it's okay)

Depends on whether you played any moves that game or if you both just stared at an empty board for the duration.
EDIT: added smiley to reduce the level of facetiousness.
