The One-Eyed Fool (game review #2)
Posted: Mon Apr 02, 2018 3:04 am
Second game of this review series.
This one was my first game on KGS. I played an 11kyu player. On KGS I have no ranking yet, but I feel I'm an okay 15 kyu player. Maybe a stronger 16-17 kyu player? Too early to tell, though. Anyway, I'm not 11 kyu.
Today I'm not very happy about my game. I started out well, not too gentleman-y and I got out of the opening with a slight edge, I believe. But than I fall into the same traps as ever and a group of mine gets totally destroyed. The one-eyed fool remains blind for now. I hope that these things will only better with time. But then again, against an 11kyu player, who points out these weaknesses to me, it's a lot better than if I played a weaker player who didn't take advantage and "let" me win despite leaving weaknesses. So I'm happy about that.
I'm mostly disappointed in the result. It happens often in my games and I don't know why. I have these miracle re-births and win games after they've been long lost. Is it because I keep playing and my opponent gets bored or something? I'm not sure. Once again, I get away with a win I hardly deserved, but that doesn' really matter here. In my heart I know I lost the middle game with some weak play and that's what I'm gonna focus on.

If someone could help me find something out, I'd appreciate it. At two moments, after my group is half dead, Leela finds two moves to do something with it. I don't know if it saves it, or exchanges it, or what. Can someone find me follow up on Leela's move?
I talk about '2' at move 72. Leela says play there instead of 73.
The other one is '2' at move 86. Play there instead of 87.
Where do these moves lead to?
Thanks!
