Moyogo available from author for free download again

Near the bottom of the page is a link by the author to the full, final version of Moyo Go Studio.
https://www.moyogo.com/

This seems to be the same as the file called Setup2009.exe from when he offered it as a freeware ages ago.
The version he is offering does not include the game packs from various servers which had amateur games from many years ago. (Not a big loss)

I would suggest updating the files with at least the free sgf collection from aeb. see viewtopic.php?f=10&t=12428
If you want to spend money for a large set of pro go games sgf, consider buying a copy of the latest GoGoD (https://gogodonline.co.uk/) or subscribing to the Go4go service (https://www.go4go.net/go/).

If you have problems installing, there are some instructions from CarlJung for Win 7 that might still be useful. viewtopic.php?p=7524#p7524

I still consider it a fine program for those who lack a good free database program for studying go games.

Not sure how long he will keep the download available though given how things have happened in the past but would be good to get your copy while it's available.

Yes, what a read! But apparently with an happy ending for Moyogo's author (sorry for spoiler). At that point, I think he should consider open-sourcing that software, because otherwise, his life's work will just die a slow and lonely death.

By the way, who is that Vit Brunner? Is he somehow well known in the Go community?

Frank de Groot is a paranoid schizophrenic, don't take anything he writes at face value.

His online nickname is tasuki, you might have come across his tsumego collection. I first met him at the Polish go camp (he's Czech but lived in Poland a while, and England for a bit too), I found him to be a friendly chap.

If you are interested in the Frank saga, I think it all started at SL over 10 years ago: https://senseis.xmp.net/?topic=195, you can also search this forum. Also, I'd suggest scanning the download for malware before use (I recall there were infected versions on torrent sites, I think at a time Frank was not making it available, so the suggestion was he released infected versions to punish those acquiring it illegally).

I always found his software very slow on my computer.
Probably because I had one of those early 64bit CPU's...
