Unable to launch the application

Aarrgh! After working perfectly on the new Win7 laptop, today I get the "Unable to launch application" error box when I tried to start CGoban3.
After clicking details it says Error: Could not parse launch file. Error at line 0. Then in the Launch File tab it has "The document has moved." Under the Exception tab it has "JNLParseException[Could not parse launch file. Error at line 0] and then several lines of what looks to be calls most of which start with "at com.sun.javaws....(Unknown Source)"
There is other information but after looking at the other tabs, it all points to being unable to parse launch file.
I've removed CGoban3, tried reinstalling it only to get the same error message either saving the file and running it or choosing run with Java web start. I've checked my Java and it's up to date. Haven't tried dumping the Java and reinstalling it.
Any ideas anyone?
ps - this has happened in the past on an older laptop and I was just able to reinstall CGoban3 and all worked okay.

Have you tried reinstalling java?

You might try looking at the Java control panel. The CGoban file is stored there under Temporary Internet Files. Maybe if you delete it there, you can re-install it. Please take the suggestion though with a grain of salt ... I sort of recall having done this, but I'm not sure whether it works.

I have the same problem when I'm using windows. Because Windows caching with Java web start applications is buggy at best.
I've downloaded the jnlp file to my desktop and use it to start CGoban. I haven't had any issues since.

Thanks all. Yeah, I've tried downloading the jnlp file and running from the desktop but no luck. So I'm guess I'm down to Daal's and Chew Terr's advice. I'll look in the control panel to see if CGoban is there. And if all else fails reload Java.
Helel, what did you mean if there was a problem with the KGS web-application?

BTW, the Java control panel can be found at My Computer > Control Panel. Good luck!

Thanks to daal I'm back in KGS.
When I went to the Java control panel and looked under the Temporary Internet Files, it wasn't even listed under the Applications tab (which makes some sense since Windows told me the program was either uninstalled or there was a problem with it when I tried to uninstall earlier). So I looked under the Resources tab and deleted everything there related to CGoban3 or gokgs.com. Then tried to reinstall and it worked.
Whew, I must be a go addict now, I was beginning to have withdrawals. Also the slight panic of wondering how I was going to play all of those leagues games I signed up for.

Yay for discussion forum help threads! Had the same problem now, over a year later, and found the solution--first hit in Google
