Can anyone provide info on the São Paulo go centre founded by Iwamoto Kaoru, please?>
I'd like to confirm date of founding (I have 1991), and also to know whether (and how) it is continuing.
All other centres founded by Iwamoto have endured rocky rides, so I'd be delighted if one escaped the turmoil. But we never seem to hear of Brazil in any connection in the go world, which is amazing considering its size.

They had that lawsuit a few years back, but the Seattle Go Center is still alive.

A lawsuit? What was that about.
I guess

I'd contact the Paulista Go Center
https://www.facebook.com/paulistagocenter
their email appears to be nihonkiinbrasil at hotmail dot com
It's not the one founded by Iwamoto Kaoru, but it is in São Paulo, exists since 2012 and seems well established. I am sure, one of them knows somebody who knows somebody..
Good luck with your research!
EDIT: Here is a claim, that São Paulo Go center was founded in 1989:

The homepage of the São Paulo go center seems defunct. I couldn't even access archived versions through the way back machine.
