Now, this was a CLOSE one.

In the same way Europeans had more chances in the Amateur one, Japan had more chances in the professional one, having half the slots in the tournament. Even so...

I'm still watching it, but I had my phone run the graph. Now, it's a phone KataGo, read by a DDK, so take this with a jar of salt or two, but the losing move is an answer to a monkey jump.

It's a pretty impressive win if you go by the normal metrics, almost miraculous... in theory at least the players Choi routinely beats should be stronger than who Ueno can beat in Japan. But perhaps the international rating system for women isn't as well-calibrated as the men's.
