Do you like that you like go?

Since you're on this forum, chances are, you like go (If not, this poll isn't for you...). But do you like that you like go? Cho Chikun is sometimes quoted as saying, "I hate go". Maybe he wishes that he didn't spend so much time with it.
What about you? Do you like that you like go, or are you just too addicted to stop?

Wait, Kirby is back? Did I miss it? Are you 3d now?

I guess I'm the first no vote.
Go is punishing and humbling and really freaking hard.

On some accounts

However before this, I broke the pact I had with myself awhile back when breakfast was offering free hamete in exchange for a review post on GD. In that sense, I failed in my goal. On the other hand, in the process of failing, I came to enjoy studying much more. That being said, I should probably refrain from making too many polls here, shouldn't I?

If go was my job, my only way of earning money, and I spent 8+ hours a day studying it, then I might feel like Cho Chikun. Wishing I could do something else, but knowing I wouldn't be able to earn nearly as much money if I did.
But since I study and play go only when I want to, I love it. And I'm glad that I like it, because I think it's had a really positive effect on my life.

I like Go, because it is not only an addiction for sure! By the way my feelings are a bit different for chess...

This question perplexes me...I can't think of anything where I hate that I like something.

I like some truly awful pop music. I know it's dumb and terrible, but it makes me happy when I hear it.
I don't feel that way about go.

Substitute romantic comedies in the above and the same is true for me.

Meh, I guess I just like making polls too much... Don't worry - I'll refrain from polling if you like that you like that you like go for those of you that like that you like go

There are definitely times that Go can be frustrating for me (usually when I'm feeling lazy and just wish I could get stronger without any work--shame on me), but I definitely really enjoy this game. So much to it, and I still have so much more I can progress and learn. Got to keep at least one thing to work at and constantly push the brain.

I will give up Go when they pry the stones from my cold dead hand....

Yeah, sure... I think having played and studied Go has been an overall benefit to my life. Sure, I've experienced the addictive phase, where I ignore other aspects of life, but that's not a major problem. Being a Go player gives me much more pleasure than pain. And it gives me endless reading material for waiting rooms, planes, airports, etc. (And, more often than not, it's a conversation starter with whomever I'm sitting next to... "So, forgive my curiosity, but what the hell is that you're reading??")
