Hey guys!. Soon im going to Korea and im thinking of buying a mural board to produce Go Videos.

I am making a survey about it here : http://govideos.questionpro.com/

Its only 7 questions and it would help me a lot if you could take a second to answer them.

Thanks!

May I ask what you're doing in Korea? Or since you're obviously going to spend some time studying Go, where are you studying/is it a formal program?

I'd skip the mural board. If the videos are online, use CGoban and do screencasting. It is hard to follow someone manually using a board. Since you are going for online videos use technology ;-)

Also, if you want to insert video of yourself talking or introducing a concept that is easy to do and makes the videos more interesting to watch and more personal. I do this stuff for a living and it is easy (Hope my boss doesn't see this and cut my pay hehehehe.) I'm happy to share ideas about how to do these kinds of videos. Just PM me.

BTW, here's an example of a screencast go video for your consideration . . .

Good luck!

I really like videos with the camera being placed over a normal board.

Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4ReF-tPwno

This seems easier for both the presenter and the viewer.

I prefer a video of a real board to a screencast. It looks better.

Also, is it intentional that in your quiz there's an option for reviews of Western and top KGS players, but no option for pro games? Do you intend to have no commented pro games?

I would also be more interested in reviews of pro games and top games from Tygem and Wbaduk than KGS.

Personally, I've found that I tend to learn best from games about 5 ranks above my own. So KGS dan games would be very useful for me, whereas I imagine that the subtlety of pro games would be lost on me, even with commentary. So if nothing else, perhaps mixing the two, but don't drop dan games altogether. =)
