Anyone else blast music while playing on KGS, Probably not the best for concentration but it helps tune out more general noises. What are people listening to.

For a short period of time I would play music as I started a game to relieve stress, but I found it too distracting as I was trying to read. I like to try my hardest every game, and I just can't do that while listening to music I like or know the words to.
There's only certain activities I can listen to music to at the same time. If I'm doing math or coding, I can listen to music only once I've figured out how to solve a problem, and simply have to write it out. However, if I have to write an essay or read something, I can't listen to music at all. So generally, I listen to music only when I'm not doing anything else.

I've found Ratatat to be excellent background music for just about anything.

Ordinarily I listen to metal and jazz, with some punk, reggae, whatever thrown in for flavor. But recently I was shown these acoustic guitarists from Candyrat Records, and wow...
Where do they find such amazing virtuosos?
Andy McKee - Art of Motion -- one of my favorite songs now, I always listen to it during the opening when playing online.
Andy Mckee - Ebon Coast -- definitely early endgame music.
Andy McKee - Drifting -- just awesome.
Antoine Dufour - Trilogie --
WARNING: If you listen all the way through you'll never want to listen to pop radio again!Antoine Dufour - To Run in a Dream -- I really like the melody and the flourishes at the end
Ewan Dobson - playing Paganini's Caprice #5 (originally written for violin)
Ewan Dobson - Time -- How do you make an acoustic guitar sound like an 8-bit video game without using effects? Get REAL good at staccato.
Ewan Dobson - Motion Potion -- This is the only song I've ever liked that requires a slide to play
Bonus:
Don Ross - Crazy (Gnarls Barkley cover)Andy McKee - Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Tears for Fears cover) -- the guitar solo in this song isn't that complicated by itself, but it's awesome to hear him play it at the same time as the rhythm section.
EDIT: just realized the link to Don Ross's cover of Crazy was wrong; fixed now.

You can make different songlists for different purpose... if I am on a losing streak (and want that to continue) I know which music I am going to listen

I listen to Koji Kondo or Nobuo Uematsu. Nobody can match an atmosphere like these two awesome composers.

I usually play classical music, especially Rachmaninov piano concertos. Also lots of Oscar Peterson. When I'm in the mood for less concentration I switch to some deep house or drum and bass mixes.

I find it best to have music only, or vocals in a language I don't know at all.

I tend to listen to the Mountain Goats when playing. Fairly quiet and mellow so it's not too distracting, but I love it.

Life of the world to come is one of my favorite albums but I think the lyrics would distract me too much.
