Go Lessons, Cheap and Good! New Go Website!
Posted: Fri Apr 01, 2011 11:38 pm
Hey guys. I'm just now trying to immerse myself further into the Go teaching 'scene', looking for more students. There's a new website nearly finished by a friend of mine, called http://www.learngo-canada.com, on which I will be featured as a teacher. I also plan to make some contributions to http://allaboutgo.com. If you own a Go website and can feature me as a teacher, are looking for home-made original Go problems, or are interested in some kind of trade of services or resources, please let me know!
Here are some details about my teaching:
I am a 5-Dan of the Canadian Go Association. Currently 4-5d on KGS (rk9, JJKIM).
$10/hour! Can be reduced in bulk!
Will be Skype-capable soon. I offer lessons online (and offline in Toronto area) in pretty much any format. Although the most common are teaching games + review, I also offer group lessons, lectures, live or email game commentaries, Go training regiments tailored to the individual (free for students), free Go resources (links, Go problems, older commented games, my own commented games etc.) and the freedom to ask me Go questions any time.
I have had more than 10 personal students so far, and have been consistently teaching 3 (now 4) for a while now. One such student has improved from 9 Kyu to 3 Kyu just recently over a short period, another was 10 Kyu 3 months ago(had 9 lessons), and now 4 Kyu.
I have volunteered teaching Go at various Go clubs, Anime conventions (such as Anime North), events (such as Road to Asia) and a little while I was in Korea. I have experience teaching all ages (including small children) and always tend to go beyond the paid lesson time.
Please contact me if interested! My schedule is especially flexible before Sept. 2011, though I will still be open for lessons then.

Blogs: http://driftingsand.blogspot.com (new, not only Go), http://ramenboya.livejournal.com (older, mostly Go)
Feel free to PM me too
Thanks!
