Life In 19x19

Hey everyone .

I was wondering if there would be any interest in a study group on Skype for SDK players? There could be a dan/DDK one made also, but I'm a SDK so I'll focus on that for now . Essentially there would be a group chat made for discussions of various points and ideas. Also Skype supports sending files to multiple participants in group discussions, so .sgfs and such could easily be sent. It would also make for easier organisation of games between players, and if people in the group chat knew a game was going on, they could watch and maybe all discuss it as a group afterwards.

Just an idea ^_^ I hope there is some interest!

Hmm. Are you talking an always-on chat channel or a weekly time for "virtual go club?"

Why not make a study group in the Lifein19x19.com room on KGS. It's not as if the room is really crowded with lots of other study discussion groups. You could arrange things via Skype and it would also let other people in the room join in if they happen to be around.

Well, people are probably more likely to be on Skype at a particular time than KGS, and also Skype lets you view all that has been said when you log on even if you're not there. I don't really want to have KGS open just to chat to people - I have IMs for that.

I'm semi-interested. Of course, that implies that I log on to Skype more often. Skype name is marc.reside ...

I think the point of doing it in the L19 room is to show a board for control. Also then you could set up the skype channel and announce it.

I might be interested, but I doubt I'd have the time to commit to it.

Depending on the frequency I would be interested in this. I can't commit to joining regular meetings, but I will pop in whenever I am able.

Anytime on the weekends is good for me

I use skype sometimes to make audio-reviews with option to talk back on kgs. I would not miss on the KGS functionality, if I were you. You can have both at the same time: the board on KGS and the multi-way audio via skype.
