Yes of course. but with the myoshu problem is there is no books about it. So harder to even study this.

Sakata's style was his own. No one can play exactly like anyone else you have to play your own way. However if you want to study Sakata's way of playing perhaps the best way is to study his games.

IIRC Sakata was playing teritory, letting all the influence to his opponent, then managed to make an unkillable invasion ?

Isn't it the style of ChoChiKun (especially against Takemiya) ?

There's a french translated book by Takemiya where he comments sequences of his games, noticeably against Cho Chi Kun. I always felt sad not to have Cho's comments about these games !

Obviously the sakata eio way of playing is probably best explained by Sakata himself. This is a nice set of Chinese books written by him which should go quite a ways in helping you understand the man and his methods.

Are there books (in english, or french, no I'm joking) on this topic ?

Yes and no :)

The "yes part": there are quite many English books on tesuji and life & death  (Disappointed? Here is the explanation: without a very good reading ability playing amashi is a kind of gambling ;-) )
