Hello L19^2 my name is Jeremy.
I became interested in GO when it was mentioned on the television show "Criminal Minds" where it was touted as "the hardest board game". I had to get a piece of that

. I've been playing/studying devotedly for only a few weeks, but I am thoroughly enjoying the history of this game and the community surrounding it.
I hope to be able to contribute to this community at some point, but I doubt I will post often due to my general lack of authority on the subject

.
Have a good one!
~Jeremy

Welcome to the forums. I don't have a criminal mind, but I'd agree that go is a pretty hard board game!

Welcome. If you think of a stupid question, ask it! Don't be shy.
Also, RIP to your life's other endeavors.

Thank you

. I'm learning a lot just by reading past threads. Also getting good book reccomendations. Just ordered "Lessons in the Fundamentals of Go". Can't wait for it to arrive.

Thank you very much!

I've a question about the book however. Is it a problem book, a theory book, a coloring book? Will it benefit a beginner (20-17kyu) such as myself?

It is theory, and is good for beginners. However, for beginners I prefer learn to play go, in the beginning, and so you want to play go. Now, back to my margarita.

I actually already have vols. I and II of "learn to play go" and study them religiously. I'll have to go see if my local bookstore has any of the other volumes.
