My indefinite departure

Hello all you lovely L19 peeps,
I'm afraid I'm going to have to bow out of L19 for the indefinite future

I've been trying to juggle too much for too long it seems. My recent break of a few weeks was to see what sort of positive impact it had on my immediate family, and the impact of returning to my fun addiction to this wonderful game was rather apparent. As such, I've agreed to go pretty much cold turkey until things are less time consuming and stressful at home to devote said time to the wife, house and kids, as they need it more (and, in fairness, should be getting it - a household of 7 was never going to leave me as much free time as I'd have liked). I seem to be rather bad at doing Go at a low level, and keeping it that way

So, I may be back at some point, but it probably won't be '11 - Please feel free to find Malkovich replacements, and moderator replacements. I'm going to be leaving my OGS / DGS games too, so if any of you have one with me at the moment, I apologise there too. I may still play the occasional casual game on KGS, but it's probably unlikely to be more than one a month or so.
Been great knowing you all, and my time on this forum has been 99% genuine pleasure.
Adios

Yeah... I know what you mean.
I am on the verge of making the same decision.
All the best.

Take good care of your family. We'll be waiting for you, be it a year or ten. Good luck to you, Graham.

We're going to miss you, graham. The man chasing two rabbits ends up being hungry, and your wife and kids are definitely the more important rabbit here. Not that I'm suggesting your family are rabbits. Or that you'd want to eat them. uhm. You get the point. If/when you decide you have enough time on your hands to return to go, we'll still be here. Thank you for all you've done for the go playing community, and have a wonderful life with your wife and kids.

I'll look forward to having you back. When that time comes, I'll try not to upset you 1% of the time.

Hey, that is bad news for us but, as suggested by other comments, you gotta do what is best for you. Go will still be here for you (unharmed) if you abandon it for awhile. Can't say the same for other things in life.
best wishes.

A very good friend of mine said once, "go is good like that. If life makes you set it aside for any length of time, your go will always be there for you." The same is true for the community. Do what you need to do, no matter how indefinite, but you`ll always have go friends if you need them.

I wish all the best for you and your family. I hope your break from go will be a bit shorter than mine was.

I have had to step back several times over the years when there simply was not enough time for everything. Go IS forgiving. The game and the Go community are always out there, ready whenever you are. See you later Graham. Meanwhile, don't be any better than you have to be!
No such thing as spare time,
No such thing as free time,
No such thing as down time,
All you got is lifetime

Thank you Graham for your teaching... I learnt a lot from you and enjoy your very positive and friendly demeanor.
I fully understand your position and point of view : go is a very demanding mistress.
I still wish you'll return to go when the appropriate conditions will be fulfilled.
Cheers,
