Anyone know who the Turkish representative will be? Or do I have to search for it myself? :)

In the main page

http://www.kpmc.or.kr/
select ENGLISH in the upper right

then in the menu, Tournament Guide, Player List:

the Chinese player is ONLY 11!! and it seems the Hong Kong one comes from the DISTANT future! (19999 typo)

Frederick Balwit 1 kyu ?!
Who is he? Never heard of him. Why aren't we sending a dan level player? What was our selection process?

edit: congrats to Fredrick, btw. maybe I should try harder to qualify for these events myself

I'm assuming this is some kind of bizarre error. My understanding is that the sponsors of this tournament do expect, with a little leeway permitted, that countries try to send their best players.

I agree. Then I might see you at a tournament. :)

Though I'm also a bit flabbergasted at this one. I saw no mention of what happened here in any aga news.

Some searching suggests he's the AGF teacher of the year, 2011.

I wanted to check the AGA board minutes for Sept 2011 for more info, but seems they're not up yet.

Edit: grammar. there != they're

Oh, Fritz? Well, at least it's someone really friendly. Met him at Congress and shared a couple of beers and a couple of particularly crazy games of go. Still curious how he qualified, friendly or no. =)
