Just for curiosity, in this times with internet connecting the go world (and having KGS, IGS, etc.) are there tournamentes between go clubs around the world?
It would be something great to have contacts with people on other go clubs around the world.

[more importantly, we're up for a challenge, if any club / entity feels like playing a consultation match, that would be fun]

I never got off my butt to make it happen, but at least I few times I mumbled something about having a "Rocky Mountain Cup" title to pass around from club to club when I saw that our 3-4x/year tournaments were drawing people from WY and UT as well as CO.
That might be more fun than straight up club vs. club matches.

That can be interesting, we can help organizing something like this.

it would be nice to organize an international club tournament. so far i only saw local matches, like
Berlin-Hamburg Supergo or last week a friendly match Prague-Brno, or
PGETC with European national teams, but nothing quite like your idea. too bad i don't belong to any club big enough to be worth a match

if you want a challenge, post how many boards to play and what are your ranks and i am sure you will find opponents

It doesn't matter if it is a big or a small club, internet brigs the posibility to be equals, maybe we can create a wiki where go clubs post challenges or make a mountain cup like BaghwanB said.
I think that increasing relations between clubs everywere in the world can be a great thing.

Did not forget about this idea, I think that in the next weeks we will be trying to organize something. It can be cool to exchange some friendly competition with other clubs.

At the professional level, there is the [sl=ChinaWeiqiLeague]China Weiqi League[/sl], amongst others. The top league there is a 12 player double round robin, with teams of 6 players, and matches played on 4 boards.
At the amateur level, I have personally played in the Dutch national club competition, which has around 30 teams of 3 players divided into leagues of 5-6 teams. This is a lot of fun, I must say. Team play really adds something for me.
On the internet, a good example would be the German go association's
Bundesliga, which has 88 teams of 5-10 players, spread over 7 leagues, with matches played on 4 boards.

O, I see the site, I don't understand German (some Idish to understand some words, but no more).
I am thinking right now, why not ask KGS to hold something like this, I can help if needed.
And yes, it is a lot of fun
