Hi everyone,
I joined here today, and figured I should introduce myself. I'm a Chess player, who has recently started learning to play Go :study: . And now after a few days of studying the rules and playing some 9x9 games, I'm absolutely fascinated by the game, and I definitely want to get better. I mainly play against GNU Go on IGS's client and few IGS games, and I also made a KGS account today. I'm still very weak at most aspects of the game(especially tactical fights), and I have read that some Chess players, like myself, have bad habits, when they first learn Go. So any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

But I'm glad I found this site; It looks like great community of Go players, and I'm sure I'll have a great time playing Go. :)

Consider reading through Go players who also play chess and the link from that page to comparing go and chess to get a sense of some chess player's observations.

And welcome!

Welcome!

One of the best tactics you've probably picked up from chess is reading ahead several moves before making a play. If you do that consistently, your tactical strength will quickly improve.
