Strange game:)

Post by nyuubi »

Hello everyone. I've been taking a rather long break from the forums because I've been depressed and the medication had a bad effect on me. But now I'm back in action and to celebrate I thought I'd post a game for review. Rather weird game... I felt I was far ahead in endgame so I didn't really play good endgame... But anyway here it is ;)

Sooo....just what the hell is going on in this game?!

Very good game! The only strange thing is that your opponent died on the entire upper half and the result is only B+5.5, around move 200 i was thinking black wins by 20+ points.

The only thing I can say at my level is:
You forgot to count G15 worth 3 points

33: The success of the game seems to hang on killing R16 et al. Q10 is wandering a bit. I'd focus on keeping S14 alive with Q12.

39: If you had played Q12 earlier, you could tenuki easily. Heck, you still can tenuki, though the aji is not pleasing. How about O15 or N17?

41: The direction of play for this group seems to be toward the center. You can't kill his right side group, so what does pushing southward do for you? Let him build a wall with Q9. It won't amount to much when you have the solid shimari in the southeast.

47: Yes! now both black groups feel like they have found their proper direction. Just imagine having this general formation when he does not have P10 or P9.

49: At first glance, O14 looks like fun. I'm too lazy to read it out.

60:Ouch!

81: Huh? This is pointless. You have a seki here. Just make sure that K13 is alive. In the long run, you kill the corner, relieving the seki at S14, and most of the upper half of the board is yours.
Just play H13 or H12.

181: Just push straight up.

Overall, you seem not to be considering where your groups want to go. You waste several moves here and there before circumstances force your hand. When you finally get focused on the proper direction of play, you play better than he does.
