Good morning everyone.

I stumbled upon this site from a comment made on gogameguru, which is currently rocking my world with their baduktv service. I live in New Hampshire US and have a variety of interests (read obsessions) including music, writing, hockey and, of course, go. Aside from studying go, I am incredibly entertained by watching the pros produce pure art on their boards.

Here I hope to find new go resources and was excited to see members bringing in updates on the LG Cup. Hopefully these resources are in english, but if anyone has any suggestions on learning Korean or Chinese... I'll probably never get around to it but thanks for the thought! Currently I've been doing fine listening to Korean announcers discuss games on Baduktv. Go is an international language so it all works out. It's cool to join a community of people who love this game as much as I do.

thanks for the welcome, I am already loving this website. I've finally found a spot (in english) that is super up to date with all the stuff going on in the go world. I do love Go Game Guru, but they seem to focus mostly on Korea. Plus, I never would have learned about 'The surrounding game' project. My first day on the 19X19 forums, good and productive!

Welcome! What kind of music do you like? (I've a serious weakness for classical :))

A large variety. I am a very big fan of metal(especially progressive, grindcore and black metal). I also love classical music, particularly late classical period/romantic and modern, specifically 1960's and 70's Gyorgy Ligeti as well as minimalism in general. Though, the music I have probably been listening to most recently is Florence and the Machine. Yeah, like I said, a variety :).

There is at least one other person who listens to black metal and Ligeti on the boards.
