Life In 19x19

Kaya seems to be working well for most people, however I have had trouble with the server and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing similar problems.

When I log in I do not see any game list or user list, and the chat box does not update automatically. I can receive messages and type chat, I just have to reload the page to see what I say. The sandbox feature also works.

I have had the same experience on internet explorer, chrome, and firefox.


I would upload a screenshot but I am not sure how to display an img file.

I had a similar issue when using an antivirus (Avast) that actively scanned web traffic. Maybe that's the issue?

As it is in the FAQ, these are classical symptoms of not being connected. When you log in, what does it say in the bottom right part of the page ?

There could be a number of things preventing your connection. Usually its a browser version, but if you tried several browsers (unless they are all old versions) there is something else.

Some antiviruses/firewalls sometimes conflict. If you use one, try disabling it momentarily to check if that could be the issue.

I am still having trouble though, I do not use any anti ad/anti virus software.

And i tried it with a fresh install of firefox, chrome, and ie.

My internet connection is a 4G connection to an air card through AT&T.

Does anyone else use an aircard and have Kaya work well?

I am out of ideas of things to try Any other ideas that I am missing?

Thanks for your persistence! i honestly dont know what could be causing issues with your connection. I will investigate it a bit tomorrow and try to find out something.

in the mean time, can you try the same device on another connection ? Like Wifi?

Ok it works on my linux computer over wifi, however my main computer the wifi is broken, so I am not sure if it is the computer or the connection, but ill try and figure it out.

I don't know if this is related, but I have similar issues when using a cell phone, or wireless generated by a cell phone.

Try a different browser and/or browser version, happened to me on an older version of Opera and on Luakit and Midori for example, while Opera 12.01, Firefox and Chromium on the same system had no trouble.

Anybody else can’t get into Kaya beta? (as of 2012-08-22, 11:07 Kaya time)

I just get the green background and the grey panels, but the latter are empty, i.e. no user list, no chat <sniff> and no games list. “Play”, “Hot”, “Friends”, “Everything” and “Widgets” buttons are visible but dysfunctional (for me). Inbox & Profile are OK and accessible.

Well, I just posted the Kaya time I saw on the beta.kaya.gs page

I mean that's when it exactly happened, so that conan can track down what caused it or something.

Same here, it happened during one of my games.

Hope it's not a big issue. Kaya has been working excellently for me.
I've been experiencing huge lag on kgs recently while I could play on kaya and download at the same time!
