Surprised to see a post about this video here, but it's definitely hilarious, isn't it? I guess it's not that surprising since the video has been such a hit. Even Justin Bieber wants in on some of the action: http://www.inquisitr.com/302373/justin- ... nam-style/

I'm ashamed to admit that at the recent congress I asked a Korean pro what "oppa gangnam style" meant. She looked confused, then said "Oh, you've heard that song..." and told me what it meant.

To clarify for everyone else, I think the most commonly repeated lyric is "oppaN Gangnam Style", which is a shortened way of saying, "Oppa nuln (는) Gangnam Style".

"Oppa" is what girls can call guys that are older than them. In this context, it is the name he is using to refer to himself. Basically, you can translate it as, "Oppa is Gangnam Style" or since he's talking, "I (your Oppa) am Gangnam Style."

What is Gangnam Style? Well, Gangnam is a ritzy area in Seoul., so the song is kind of a parody of that, saying he is "hip" and "wealthy" - a fact that can clearly be seen as he's walking through trash near the beginning of the video.

Here’s a cool cover version of “Gangnam Style” by the magnificent Josh Woodward.

Citing from Josh’s newsletter:
So, I kinda covered Gangnam Style. And when I say "covered it", I mean to say that I went a little overboard and busted out the cello, accordion, banjo, glockenspiel, and I spent countless hours learning how to rap in Korean. Normally, when I do weird projects like this, I do the sensible thing and keep them to myself, but this time... well, it actually came out kinda good. So I'm taking a short break from my weekly VideoSong from The Wake to bring you this:

I hope you enjoy. Please share if you like it, and if you don't like it... well, you have more willpower than I do. ;-)

Hope to talk to you all soon!

I could be mistaken, but doesn't Yi Sedol appear wearing a yellow suit and driving a sports car? Very stylish!
