Ideas For Forum Features

Well, it looks like there are a few details to iron out, but we now have the basic functionality we had for go tools at GoDiscussions.com. But inspired by Joaz's request about forum diagrams, maybe we can think of new and better tools that GD didn't have. Let's start a "Forum Wishlist" here. If you have a cool idea for a forum tool, post it here!

First, a Malkovich/ongoing games forum.
Second, an option to hide any forums desired from the 'View unread/new posts' buttons. That way, people who don't particularly care about Malkogames or computer go, for instance, can hide them.
Third, perhaps a rules discussion forum.

I posted some wishes
in another thread. I may be volunteering myself to implement some of them.

I'm sorry, fwiffo. I didn't realize that you had already made a topic about this.

2 requests:
A mark all read button.
A mark this thread not interesting button (thread will not show up in view unread posts again)
or if this is too hard, a mark thread read button

That would be useful.

I currently have a widget that can display recent posts from here, the other site..., SL, and GAworks rss feed. Should we keep that or move to hard coding like the old sites homepage had?

Could the forum title banner perhaps be remade with another font at some point? Papyrus is generally considered one of the most taste-handicapped fonts in the universe and doesn't give a very good first visual impression of the site.

I have something that sounds trivial but is actually very important for (my?) pleasant experience on the forum - for some reason, the post texts are shown in extremely tiny hard-to-read font. Other features like captions etc. are normal-sized, so just zooming in is very clumsy solution. Could someone please fix up the stylesheet?

+1. Besides, the font colour does not contrast well against the background. The combined effect is somewhat creepy to me.

This! If no one does anything by the weekend, I'll try to whip something up.

Pasky: Most mainstream browsers today have a config option to define a minimum font size. I couldn't survive around the intertubes without it.

sure, but I agree with pasky, the default shouldn't be so small.
