Hey guys,

Any idea on how i can improve ?

My own comments:

37: r16 better ?
45: bad, removing ko threat, its miai anyway. Also alows white to link later.
49: j15 instead ?
71: maybe n6 better ?
117: simple turn at G9 instead ?
193: maybe live with sequence b15 b16 a15 a16 b13 ? not sure, at least ko ?
205: killing move is h12 instead i think.

I started to analyze this game before Ed Lee reacted. Instead of reading his review I prefer to post my opinions. Not because I think they are better. They are not. But to compare them afterwards. Maybe they are useful.
7 : I prefer R11 as dubble purpose move: pincer and extension from shimari.
9 : R17 big & you are safe, he is not
23 : on the left I prefer a kakari in the upper left. But a extension or a kakari on the bottom might be bigger. C10 seems more flexible to extend from.
25 : second line in the fuseki only when necessary. I think bottom is more important now or C6..8
31 : H17 maybe J17 and your result here is ok. Consider the cuts as miai for the opp. You can't protect them both. If you really want to connect one I would choose the central one and I would connect solidly.
37 : bottom or C6..8
39 : r13?
41 : slow move, I think. Locally P12 is less slow. K15 for attack?
47 : cut between 42 and 44
71 : O4,R5,Q4,Q5 b gains and w is heavy
99 : c6..8
105: any plans? Left side is urgent!
119: C7 for heaven's sake.
129: now
131..147 D8 or D9 followed by F3

BTW, you didn't mention who won. I don't think you have lost yet.

That's OK, but you also give W the choices of R17 (3-3), or double approach like O16.

Just a few comments on your comments.
7: your move is possible but not better I think. They are different styles to play orthodox.
9: Again, style. I like my result better. For variations you can check http://www.fortmyersgo.org/2010/03/25/t ... ox-fuseki/ (the sgf is gathered from pro games)
23: Not sure about it, i just wanted to prevent any chinese and not have to play a sequence right away.
25: This is a 2-4 probe. Normaly I would not play anything after move 2 but I think white replyed bad to it so i got easy shape. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-Ngx-ZHOvE)

31: i don't understand what you are saying
37: c6-8 indeed i forgot, i should have done something about it. At this moment i wanted to create tickness to attack lone stone at k17. Was that wrong ?
39: indeed, bad.
41: yes indeed, I wanted to make sure at least had one eye there but if i make space its not required of course... bad bad bad !:-)

I had a very hard time assessing wether i should kill or just try to profit...

Thanks for your review of my game, I learned. I think the biggest mistake was not settling left side and right invasion handled pourly.
The invasion I still don't know how to handle correctly. I guess I'll run through some more variations on this.
Also if anyone should be able to shed better light on this invasion I would appreciate it. Was it good, was it bad, safetly first with my stones on top or more aggressive ?

Oh and the result of the game was that I won by 1.5 points.
But the game was 0.5 komi so if it was by regular komi I would have lost by 5 points.

Thanks for your review of the game, most things are straight forward in your review except 2 things:

- What is eye bleeding tesuji ?
- You should think about what you did wrong here --
W INVADED your area, with W (a), and now B (b) is under attack -- this result is ridiculous for B.

I understand the result is bad but I'm not sure what I should have done instead ? During the game I thought to push on top towards my stones but I felt I was not strong enough at the bottom to do this.

Any ideas ?

Otenki, I'm not sure what's the best move for , maybe Q6 instead ?
When a very bad shape happens in a game, some people feel like it makes the eyes bleed.

Fuzzy indeed. Extend to H17 seems to be the move.
Then there is no big hurry to play E18 or E16, though I still dislike your joseki here. For one thing because the top is small compared to the bottom.

at 35 you got your sente move against the corner. It is safe now. If you want to lean again pick another group. O11 or C14 popped out of my box. For me I would attack straight away, K15 probably, maybe J15, "après moi la déluge", that is my spirit. ( when kibbitzing )

Takemya in "Invasions in Corner enclosures" describes b's invasion at P5. Only there b's top area is wider and b's boundarys are weaker. b has O4 and Q6 in that weaker shape. w has to work hard for sabaki. I guess a strong player would see a the kill in this stronger shape. Also because all ladders are b's. We, humans, should prevent w's sabaki, drive him out in bad shape, harass him all over the board and profit in the proces.
Maybe you are still okay after w78 if b79 at N8.
