just to open up this old, and otherwise long dead subject again ... :)

Google announces j2objc -- java to ios objective-c translator

edit: humm... I didn't start this thread. Apparently it was split from another older thread. And now that's its been split, its lost its original context. Sure, it can probably stand on its own without that context, but if I had started it, I would have at least added a link to the original thread.

That was just for back end code, right? It wasn't for gui stuff, from what I recall when I looked at this announcement?

Also don't you need a Mac to make iOS stuff?

That would be a killer for me :)

@badukJr - sure, but if you are iPad user then believe me you won't buy any other device just for one app, and similar thing is about SmartGo Kifu and Android tablet user - if have one will you buy an iPad just for one app? Moreover there is easy way to play on KGS on iOS device if you really need to.

This only works for non-UI code. It would be of very limited use for the KGS client.
