In the following board, what side would you rather be and what would be your general game plan if you were the other?:

I would prefer black. White has played a lot of stones on one side of the board.

And what would be your game plan if you were white?

Play on the other side of the board. Plus think about using the invasions at h3 and h17 as black has made bad shapes there by sliding to the corner and then making the far extension to k4/16. Either slide and make tight extension, or loose extension without slide to retain the flexibilty to dodge to 3-3 when white invades.

I dislike both colours.

I think the key point for both is the right side star point. A white play there would break up black's moyo and allow white to attack on whichever side black doesn't defend, while a black play there makes this look like a handicap game. Really, most of the other moves are miai because of the symmetry of the situation, so I think it would devolve into mutual destruction.

I would prefer black if it were not for d2 and d18. As it is, I think I'd be more comfortable with black, but I suspect white has an advantage.

"Both sides are worse." Always a depressing review comment.

I'd prefer white...but both sides are "worse".

Black has technical weaknesses everywhere and so, I'd prefer playing from white, since black's "speed" seems counterbalanced by his ajikeshi-ish plays

I'd prefer black, and would counter it with White R10 or Q10.
