Park Junghwan was seeded and rest were selected through tournament.

China:Xie He(84), Jiang Weijie(91), Chen Yaoye(89), Wang Xi(84), Tan Xiao(93)

Chinese team were selected using tournament among high ranker.

Japan:Takao Shinji(76), Murakawa Daisuke(90), Anjai Nobuaki(85), Fujita Akihiko(91), Ida Atzushi(94)

Japan's selection process isn't known.

I think that the normal reading for one of the Japanese players is Anzai Nobuaki.

And the other would be Ida Atsushi.

However, I don't think they'll be in the tournament too long either way.

I'm debating whether Japan is being lazy and sending a b-team or if they're making a committed effort to getting their younger players on the international scene as early as possible to gain experience. Either way, it seems like another year where Japan will get no victories.

China and Korea both have preliminaries to choose who gets in. It's a bit strange that someone (who?) just chooses the Japanese team.

You're assuming they chose these people. It's very possible that they asked other "A-List" players, but they declined (because of the short time settings of course).

What is the format in this tournament? Does Tan Xiao keep playing until he loses?
