Is this move legal?

Can white place on the triangle and capture one black stone even though the other two blacks have liberties? I assume it can because the capture leaves a liberty for the white stone making the capture. Ko prevents black from capturing right away, and white can then fill it.

You are correct in your reasoning.

Yes white may place on the triangle and capture one black stone.
And yes the Ko prevents black from capturing right away.

The only circumstance under which white could not capture the black stone is if...

...in which case White can't immediately recapture because of ko.
