Wow, these are awesomely brilliant news!! I'll definitely have to go there, as it's not as far as Japan and as I've been a huge fan of Iyama Yuta for many years. I'm already so excited to finally see him in person! (that means, if mortals are allowed near enough to see the players ;-) )

Thanks a lot for posting, you made my day! :D

EDIT: Oh, and btw.: It should be the first game of the series that will be held in Madrid, not the final game. At least according to the tradition to "outsource" the first game in a series of a title to other countries and to the last few years schedules, where the first game always took place around this date. Maybe you can correct the mistake from the Go club's homepage in the thread title?

You are right (it makes more sense: a 4-0 would make this game useless!) Actually in the Spanish version the text is correct. I'll drop them an email later when I'm on my computer, I'm not affiliated with them or anything ;)

I also plan to attend, both to see the Kisei game and all the related atmosphere and also to play in the tournament (it's the next one I can attend for now :/)

Ah, ok, I didn't check the Spanish version of the text. Anyways, small mistakes happen a lot during translation - especially, when one is excited. :D And as it is not a crucial mistake it's not too bad. The wrong date would be worse. But thank you for dropping them a line!

Nice to hear that you'll be there! If I can really make it (which will definitely happen unless I get sick (God bewares)), then I'd be happy to meet you there and maybe play a game - on KGS I'm around 5k as well, so I guess it would be an interesting game. ^^ And maybe other L19ers will be there, too?
And I'll cross my fingers that maybe there'll be one or two other tournaments you can attend. It's sad to hear that you have so little options!

I checked after the NGA summer tournament (in Espoo, my last tournament) and as far as I know there's nothing in Spain until January, then Barcelona's tournament in February (I guess, so far I've seen no announcement). Anyway in Sept-Dec is hard for me to go anywhere unless I plan with enough time, and so far the only clear-cut calendar I know is the Finnish go scene... And there's nothing except in September (and I can't :()

Uh, that sounds really bad.. I feel a little ashamed to say that compared to Spain, Germany seems like a tournament paradise, then. There are plenty of tournaments here, on most weekends somewhere in Germany you may play one. So maybe you want to check the German tournament calender? You can find it at http://www.dgob.de under "turnierkalender" on the left (I'm afraid the webdesign is sub-optimal, the page has no valid adress itself.. :-/)
The calender is also very well cared for. And, as a recommendation: In November, there is the two-day Kranich tournament in Berlin. It is not only traditional, but also big (about 100 players) and very nice (wonderful food from Japanese housewives). I've already met Spanish players (from Madrid I think) there, too. The week before the tournament is another three-day-tournament in Berlin with very nice prices (but the tournament mode is kinda unsual), it's called Go to Innovation. The week between usually are daily Go activities. The tournaments take place every year, the activities vary and are anounced on the homepage of the Berlin Go Club a short time in advance (http://www.govb.de - I'm afraid it's in German only).

So maybe this is something for you? If you're even checking the Finnish Go calender, you seem prepared to travel. If you can get a week off (ok, that maybe next year) this sounds like a good deal to me. ;-)

Danke schön! I used to speak German, so I can more or less manage the page and no problem in going to Germany... And I'm envious of your tournament scene indeed!

De nada! ^^ Great to hear, that there are no language problems on your side. So maybe you'll be able to improve your yearly dosis of Go tournaments. I'm looking forward to meet you there, then. ;-)

And yes, we truly have plenty of tournaments.. But I think, Germany also has the most Go players per country in Europa. So, it's kinda logical (although not entirely fair maybe. ;-)

I may show up there too... It would be my first tournament within the last 3 years... I'll have to take the rust off...

By the way, RBerenguel, during the first November weekend, we've got the Spanish Open Tournament in Madrid, too. I noticed it after checking the AEGO site, looking for some additional notes on the Kisei tournament.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the Open tournament.

Don't know, Ember is EGF 5k and I'll be entering as EGF 8k (in my last tournament I got promoted to 9 from 10, but I'm a little better now I think, and I probably was underrated at 10 anyway)
