Hi Guys!

I have watched this fantastic new forum grow and I have finally decided to step in and say hi.... so 'hi'.

I do not play Go online, but I am currently studying everyday at Yu Chang'hyuk's Baduk Dojang (Dojang = Dojo). My rank in Korea is 1d, but world rankings seem quite variable as I just got back from Japan where I was ranked as a 5d. I guess it shows rank is merely relative so it doesn't really matter.

Anyway, I hope to get to know you all soon.

Good to have you on the forum, welcome!

How come you chose this one, as I guess there must be lots of korean forums on Baduk as well, right? The Dojo where you are studying, is this like a school where you are going to and taking lessons?

Anyways, I hope you will be enjoying this forum as much as I do. See you around.

Thanks!

Well, to be honest I am actually not Korean even though I am living there at the moment. I can speak and write a fair bit, but I am pretty slow at it so an English forum is still easier.

I chose this school to study at because it has a good reputation and is probably the strongest Baduk/Go school in Seoul.

Every weekday I go to the school and study from 8:30am until 9:00pm. On weekends I study from 8:30am until 6:00pm. Study includes Life and Death problems, as well as matches, game reviews and lectures. It is pretty full on, but very enjoyable too.

Welcome! It's always interesting to hear how things work in Korea, and I think some people were looking for information on go schools in the east.

Hi!

Can you please tell me how much it costs to study there? i would like to know all the expenses and requirements if possible. Is there a foreigner discount? I heard from my reliable Korean friend, who works for Oro, that many of them have this. Thanks!
