My name's Daniel, and I'm from Illinois. As you might have guessed from my username, I'm an amateur radio operator. I'm also a beginner on-and-off go player (~24k on KGS). (I also play chess, mostly on chess.com.) I principally play on my iPad, but I also have a cheap set, and I'm considering upgrading. I also practice on goproblems.com. I've been stuck at 24k on KGS for awhile and 15k-18k on goproblems.com, so I'm looking for ways to improve.

Besides playing (and reviewing!, best with a stronger player or by using the Game Analysis section in this forum) and goproblems.com, I can recommend some books. "Opening Theory Made Easy" to get your first bits of understanding about the first douzen moves or so. And "Graded Go Problems For Beginners" vol. 1 and 2.
If you like to read books (and solve problems) on your iPad, you could check out smartgo.com's book selection. There you can buy e.g. the Graded Go Problems for Beginners series.
Welcome and have fun =)

Thank you! I do have the SmartGo Books app, and I've bought the first two books from the Graded Go Problems series. I'm working through the second.
