Hello from an eternal kyu

Hello everyone, I'm a middle-aged man that has been playing go on and off for a long time.
I have no dreams of ever becomming a strong player, but still, I have the hope to gain a few stones in time.
Perhaps L19 can help me with that.
Futile or not, time will tell. :)

Ps. My name isn't misspelled! ;-)

Yeah, a friend of mine from my local go club thought that I was referring to a tanuki when I first told him about what tenuki meant in go. He had heard of the Japanese animal, but not the idea of playing elsewhere. (Hopefully you don't play like you have no idea what tenuki is. ;-))

Believe it or not: Master Tenuki in the forever famous "Aji's Quest" was given this name with respect to the tanuki animal.
The third picture showing tanuki "N. p. ussuriensis" gives the impression of white spots on brown ground.
These contrast nicely to the black spots on brown ground which make up Aji's fur.

Cheers,
Rainer

I’m “middle-aged” too, BTW. Or perhaps in my 2nd third, who knows ;-) anyway, I was born in 1957, and guess I’ll be happy if I ever cross the the next “magical line”, the one to SDK, in this life :-D But again, who knows … I’ve had several lives already in this life, perhaps I’ll get some more :-)

Greetings from this German village,
