I've lived in MN. This is not a Minnesota-ism. I've also live in the South (and still do). Are you sure you live in MN? Had you said "whatever" I would have be more believing,

DrStraw, of course it's not "convincing". I am neither from Any region of America but from a whole nother continent instead. But I live in Minnesota now, a "Shakopeean" and I have friend from nearly everywhere. And since I'm not a native speaker, I believe it is only fair that I would have the tendency to pick up certain quirks from any region. So sorry for not being believable. And anyway, I have a strange aversion to the word 'whatever' due to PTS from highschool preppie
