Apple TV has Korean Baduk tv channel

Just an FYI, for those with an Apple TV.

One of the channels this device gets is KOR TV. Within that are two baduk sections, one is live-Baduk TV. The second, on the top menu is called "Go Game" VOD with a series of lectures and commented games. All content is in the Korean language.

I believe that you have to pay separately for the live-tv version, versus the VOD service. Each is $3 per month.

I am currently watching Lee Sedol play Eric Lui in the Samsung Cup. Pretty cool, even if I have no idea what they are saying.

The lack of English subs in the VOD means I will unsubscribe at the end of month one. Unless, I am missing something, and somebody here knows how to turn subtitles on...

Sorry if this is a repost, but I did conduct a brief search.

Interesting. I had looked for Baduk shows on a Roku device, but never found them.

KOR-TV website says:

"KORTV was originally known as WKNTV on Netgear or Roku media players. The name change reflects the Company's unwavering determination to become a leading player of Korean media service in the fast growing global IP media industry. Originally distributed using Netgear NeoTV and Roku streaming technology, KORTV is now on Apple TV's powerful IP platform where it can reach audiences from over 100 countries."

and

"KORTV has a strategic partnership with Apple Inc. to secure a dominant position on the Apple TV viewing platform....Currently, KORTV is only available on Apple products. Subscribers from over 100 countries can access KORTV on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad"

Is it available in Europe? I know Apple do not offer the same channels outside of the US as they do within it.

I am accessing it in the UK. Don't know about the rest of the continent.

We get bundled with the UK for most things, but annoyingly not for some (e.g. digital books rights) and it's rarely worth purchasing Irish rights on their own.
