Hello my name is Beau. I just started playing go 3 months ago and have been slowly teaching myself. I play online a little mostly against bots. I guess most people play people in person when they start off as its hard to find low ranked players online. I play on KGS under the same user name. My rank kind of jumps around but hopefully I will get a little more consistent. I dont know anybody locally who plays so i'm kind of limited as to how I get to practice. Other hobbies are cars. If i'm not watching higher ranked games online than i'm probably working on my car or getting yelled at by the wife. Not sure how active I will be but I know I will be lurking around seeing what advice gets posted here and in the off chance I have some input or a question I will make a fool of myself and spit it out.

Welcome to the forum.
If you haven't looked at the life in 19x19 room on KGS yet, I'm sure quite a few of the regulars would be willing to play a teaching game with you as well, instead of playing bots all the time.

Welcome, you forgot the most important part what type of car?
Good luck with the wife.
Oh and just say your new usually people will be happy to play a newer player and give some tips.

Welcome! I'm in the same boat as you, no one to play with other than online.
