Re: Family Go league?
I have played everyone in my family at Go. My brother and sister would probably be the best players though (besides me).

Family Go league?
I had just came up with an idea. It might be a lot more fun for my family to play Go, if there was a little competition involved.
My idea was to make a small Go league just in my family. The only problem, is I don't know exactly how leagues work. I know that you rank up and down based on your wins ...

Go media?
I just finished watching the series "Hikaru no Go". I was wondering if there is any other manga that was made about the board game, or an amazing fanfic.
Are there any links to any of the Go movies? (Go master)
Maybe even a fan-made continuation of Hikaru no Go?
I'm just generally curious about ...

Re: Experimenting on myself
I see the dead group, but if black plays p3, then o2, isn't the bottom right corner dead, and that would make up for the lost group, right?

Maybe you'll get good practice defending territory this way
When they are placing them there, and I kill all their pieces, they get frustrated and then don't think that it is fun to play me.

Re: No-one wants to play Go!
Thanks, I think I have found a local Go club, that I have never heard of. I recently contacted someone for the times they meet. I am waiting for a reply.
I will try to give a handicap and let them beat me. It will be hard though because they are blind that my territory is impenetrable.

Re: No-one wants to play Go!
to start school clubs, you need people. I can't seem to find anyone who wants to play Go, and I don't want to seem like a Go maniac, lol.

Re: relearning
I remember downloading a program with a strong Gnu Go on it. Download the panda-net client, you would be able to play Go even when you are offline, against other people and the computer. The KGS client is also very good, it's an SGF editor too.

No-one wants to play Go!
I discovered Go about a half a year ago, and I have really gotten into it about 2 months ago. I'm 16 kyu on KGS, and advancing. The only problem is, I know no-one who plays Go or even wants to learn.
I have played against everyone in my family, and whooped them. They don't want to take a handicap ...

Hi, I'm Ribab
Hi, I'm the only person I know who knows how to play Go. The only place I can play people my level of skill is on servers like KGS online. I would like to learn more about the game and maybe even travel a couple hours to get to the nearest Go club to play "real" people.
My rank is about 18 kyu on ...

I think that the play at 48 was not needed and could have been used to take the middle.
